Meet the Director
Amy grew up near the beach in Southern California where she met her husband, David, in high school. They married in 1994 and moved to Northern California to be closer to family and enjoy a slower pace. Following a 15 year career in the health and fitness industry, Amy decided to start a business in which she could teach young children the importance of a healthy lifestyle through movement… and viola, Fit Kids 4 Life was born! Since its inception in 1998, Fit Kids has served hundreds of children in the greater Sacramento area in Gymnastics, Dance, Fitness, & Creative Movement!
In 2006, Amy returned to school to receive her B.A. Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University. Through her schooling, she became intrigued by the development of the young brain, especially in the areas of social and emotional development, which inspired her to incorporate activities into her curriculum that would foster positive character, socio-emotional growth, and beneficial peer interactions.
Five years later, Amy and her husband became homeschooling parents, during which time she became passionate about teaching and serving the local homeschool community. In 2015, Amy expanded her business, developed curriculum, and began teaching an all day, all-inclusive TK/Kindergarten enrichment class that has grown in popularity over the last three years.
She hopes to continue serving and working with children for many years to come as they bring much joy to her life!
